PRR-3 - Confidential Records

The two principal types of records that the Department of Revenue may not disclose to the public are tax records and motor vehicle records. While Tennessee strongly encourages disclosure of public records, the Department is required by law to maintain these types of records as confidential unless the person making the request sufficiently establishes that an exception to the confidentiality laws applies.
