PRR-10 - Tennessee Open Records Laws

The Tennessee Open Records Act allows Tennessee citizens to view government public records that are connected to official business transactions, unless otherwise provided by state law.

The Tennessee Department of Revenue is committed to fulfilling public records requests. The Department strives to balance a taxpayer’s legal right to have certain information kept confidential with a citizen’s right to access records. In fulfilling public records requests, the Department is bound by laws that prevent the disclosure of certain confidential information.

For more information, please view the Department's public records policy here. Or visit the Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury, Open Records Counsel’s website.
