SB-9 - Limitations on When Surety Bonds Can Be Written

The following circumstances will prevent a surety bond from being written:

  • the value of the vehicle being $3000 or less

  • the age of vehicle is over 30 years old

  • the car is stolen

Additionally, for a mobile home, an affidavit of affixation on file at the county Register of Deeds office will prevent a surety bond from being written.
