SB-10 - Length of Time a Surety Bond Is Valid – No Renewals

Surety bonds provide legal protection to prior owners and lienholders for 3 years. The Department does not issue additional bonds for the same vehicle after 3 years – therefore, this is no need to renew a bond after this year. After the 3-year period, the applicant holds title not subject to challenge.
