Once specialty plates have been produced, the Tennessee Department of Finance and Administration will contact the organization concerning the distribution of funds. The organization will not receive funds from the initial assigned plates sold until the plates are picked up by the registrant at their local county clerk's office. Therefore, if an initial assigned plate is never picked up by the registrant at their local county clerk's office the organization will not receive the funds from the sale of that plate.
