For 2018 and years after, business tax is filed on a consolidated basis. This means that all locations are filed and paid together. In previous years, taxpayers most likely made separate payments for city and county business tax.
To gain access to your current business tax account using one of your last three payment amounts, use the total combined payments for a previous tax filing, all locations included. For example:
- If you paid $22 in tax for the county and $22 for the city in 2017, the TNTAP system recognizes these payment as $44 total. You should use $44 to gain access to your business tax account.
