I am a promoter of a special event in Tennessee. What are my responsibilities regarding taxes from the event?

1.  You must register the event with the Tennessee Department of Revenue by emailing the completed new promoter registration application to revenue.support@tn.gov. If you are already registered with the department, you may call us at (615) 253-0601 and request the upcoming event be added to your existing registration.  This registration is required for your vendors to remit sales tax from the event.

2. You should supply each vendor attending the event a letter informing them of their tax responsibilities, the event information and the special event vendor registration form. A vendor instructions example letter is provided here.
