If I maintain title to inventory held for sale in a third-party Tennessee warehouse, but have no other physical presence, do I need a state and/or a municipal business tax license?

Yes, having inventory held for sale at a warehouse in Tennessee constitutes having a Tennessee location.  The warehouse would be considered an “other distribution point” according to Tennessee business tax rules. Therefore, sales of the inventory would be subject to the state and municipal business taxes.
