I have insurance, but the state’s Electronic Verification Insurance System is not able to confirm my policy. Why?

This situation could happen for one of the following reasons:

  • There could be a discrepancy between the vehicle identification number (VIN) listed on your policy and what is listed on your vehicle title. Please verify that the numbers match.
  • Your insurance company may not yet have reported information about your policy to the Department of Revenue.
  • There are rare occasions when the Electronic Insurance Verification System is not accessible due to technical difficulties.
